Pictured Rocks Kayaking – Michigan Upper Peninsula

Enjoy the video! 🙂 And please double click to expand. Its much better that way.

The Pictured Rocks in Munising have been on our minds for over a year ever since we heard about them from a seasoned hunter. A quick Google search revealed these massive cliffs, of all different colors. We were definitely hooked. It got a prominent position on our “To Go” list.  We finally made the trek up north this summer to the UP, or for you non-michiganders, the Upper Peninsula. It was a world wind tour and I am so glad I caught some of it on video, because reliving it is priceless.

We decided to do a kayaking tour. We have no outdoor skills or experience and did not want to brave it on our own. Lake Superior is a beast, and will freeze you into an icicle in a blink.

When we got there, it was pretty foggy that morning so we had to wait a few hours before pushing out. After we got on the water it was all ooohs, and ahhs. It truly is gorgeous and a must see up close if you ask me.

Michigan truly has alot of gems, both hidden and visible, but it is locations like the Pictured Rocks that make it exotic. Yes, Michigan is exotic. For anyone that says otherwise, you are a boring person that has not stepped out of your shell, and have not looked beyond the confines of the major cities. Explore, live and learn.
